CEDR, The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution

In 2004, Europe surpassed the US as China's biggest trading partner and the UK now invests more than any European Union country in China. In light of this an alternative to arbitration or litigation for the management and resolution of complex and significant commercial disputes arising between UK-EU and Chinese businesses has never been more vital.

The China Britain Business Council (CBBC) has therefore joined forces with CEDR, Europe’s leading mediation organisation, in a move designed to benefit all of its members by giving access to the full range of CEDR’s dispute resolution services to improve the competitiveness and productivity of member’s businesses.

CEDR is Europe’s largest mediation organisation and has over a decade of unrivalled experience in helping parties resolve disputes through non-litigious processes, including handling over 10,000 commercial mediation referrals.

CBBC members are able to draw on this experience to access a wide range of practical assistance including;

• a free CEDR mediation hotline to help resolve disputes

• a free advice service to assist in the drawing-up of contract clauses that will allow for smoother conflict outcomes
