China’s Two Sessions or Lianghui comprise the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the plenum of the National People's Congress.
The two gatherings, which were initially scheduled to start on 5th March, will convene in Beijing on 21st May and 22nd May respectively.
Around 5,000 delegates from all parts of the country will meet in Beijing to decide the year's legislative agenda. Most importantly, they will also decide on the growth target for this and possibly next year, providing a strong indicator for China's economic policy in the coming months.

Trey McArver is the co-founder and head of Politics Research at Trivium China, a Beijing-based strategic advisory firm.
Trey is also the founder and chief editor of China Politics Weekly.
Before founding Trivium, Trey was the director of China research at TS Lombard, where he advised asset managers and hedge funds on developments in China's economy and financial markets.
Prior to that, he was director in charge of public affairs at consultancy North Head in Beijing.
Trey holds an MA in economics and international relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
