||Paul North, ASEAN Trade Adviser - The UK-ASEAN Business Council
Paul is an experienced Executive Business Manager with a wealth of experience in International markets having worked and lived in the Middle East for more than 30 years.
During the last 20 years overseas he was responsible for building, developing and managing agency, distributor and channel partners in the Middle East and African region for one of the largest power and automation companies in the world, ABB, with a prime role of Vice President Middle East and Africa for the division automation products. The role also included total responsibility for the divisions marketing activities and export sales for two regional production sites, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Following a return back to the UK in 2011 Paul headed up an international team within an energy management solutions company rolling out their product range across Europe, Middle East, South East Asia and Australia.
Paul’s previous role was with the Department for International Trade (formerly UK Trade & Investment), heading up in the East Midlands, the overseas business network initiative. He was developing and supporting a global network of business led partner organisations, to offer a wide range of high quality support in key markets, particularly South East Asia, for exporting companies.
||Christopher Lethbridge, China-Britain Business Council
As UK Sector Lead for Creative Industries, Chris works to advise UK Creative Industries companies on their market entry, development, and strategy in China.
Prior to his current role, Chris was CBBC’s China Market Business Adviser for the South East. From this position he worked with an array of companies across a broad range of sectors including High-tech and Advanced Manufacturing, E-commerce, Food & Beverage, and Financial Services.
Before joining CBBC, Chris was Executive Officer of the Australia China Business Council and worked for the Australian Government. He has a Master’s of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s of International Relations (Chinese) from the Australian National University.

Born and raised in the Persian Gulf, Neil Payne has long had an interest in different cultures. Upon completing his MA in Middle Eastern Studies at SOAS he went on to start, and then eventually sell, a localization agency as well as work as a cultural consultant. He now runs Commisceo Global, which specialises in online cultural awareness courses.
