Intellectual property protection is an extremely important issue for any business considering working in China, whether to manufacture there or to market products or services in China.  Learn from the experts in this afternoon seminar.  Dr Charlotte Crowhurst of European and UK patent and trade mark attorney firm Potter Clarkson LLP and William Yang of Beijing based Panawell & Partners LLC will provide information and advice about obtaining intellectual property rights in China and protecting those rights.

Dr Charlotte Crowhurst

Dr Charlotte Crowhurst is a European and UK patent attorney with over 20 years of experience in helping clients obtain and manage their patents to support their commercial objectives.  Her expertise includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications and proceedings before the European Patent Office, global patent portfolio management and advising on patent strategy.  Charlotte has a particular interest in intellectual property in China and travels to China regularly.

William Yang

William Yang is the managing partner of Panawell & Partners, LLC. He is a Chinese lawyer with 20 years’ experience in intellectual property strategy counseling, transactions, enforcement and anti-unfair competition. Mr. Yang has broad experience and expertise in enforcing IPR for companies including British before the Chinese government agencies like AIC, IPO, Customs and courts of different levels. Mr. Yang was selected as one of the China IP Stars in 2015 by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP), and has been recommended as one of the China’s leading patent litigators by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) since 2011.
