Jeff is based in Shanghai, but his role as Executive Director covers the whole of China. He has a wealth of business, management consultancy, research and corporate training experience, and his 20-year career includes trade and product marketing, business analysis, market analysis, international business development, and financial management. He has 15 years’ experience working in the Asia-Pacific region, with the last six years in China, in the education, media, entertainment, and sports & leisure sectors. Before Shanghai he worked in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shenzhen.

China-Britain Business Council’s food and drink sector lead. She joined CBBC after more than 20 years of living and working experience in China. Fluent in Mandarin, she has worked for a range of international publications, including the Economist Intelligence Unit, the research arm of the Economist, reporting on China’s macroeconomic trends, doing field work in different regions and researching specific industries and companies. As a China Business Adviser and food and drink specialist for CBBC, Antoaneta has worked with hundreds of UK companies over the last five years, supporting their initial interest and entry in the Chinese market as well as further business expansion there. She has an excellent grasp of the challenges companies face when approaching the market for the first time and through long-term China experience a unique knowledge of the potential pitfalls and obstacles to be overcome during the market entry too.

James Brodie is the Manager, Scotland and China Business Adviser for the China-Britain Business Council. A fluent speaker of Mandarin, James returned from working in China in July 2012 where he had held positions in a variety of sectors, ranging from contemporary art, through education and most recently petrochemicals. James lived in Beijing from 2006-2012 but has travelled extensively on business throughout China, serving as an interpreter and cultural adviser to foreign companies, a role he has also performed for Chinese companies ‘going global’. James has a BA (Hons) in Chinese Studies from the University of Sheffield. Located in Edinburgh, James covers Scotland.

Nathalie Cachet-Gaujard is Director Education and Innovation at the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC). Nathalie has over twenty years of experience in international business development. She started her career lecturing at the University of Salford and the University of Xiamen in Fujian. She then moved to industry, holding senior international management positions in the software and telecom industry and was based in Beijing for two years. Prior to joining CBBC in 2014, she worked for five years at the University of Central Lancashire, developing global partnerships spanning from teaching and research to projects with industry, with much of her time spent in China. Nathalie holds Masters degrees from the University of Haute-Alsace, France and from the University of Salford, UK, and is a fluent speaker of Mandarin.

Holly joined CBBC in 2000. She manages a portfolio of cross-sector research projects with her team in Beijing, and personally leads CBBC’s biggest research projects and events. She has worked with a wide range of UK companies in the agriculture sector, assisting them with trade in China and interaction with government bodies. Holly previously worked at a Sino-British joint venture beer brewery. She learned about malting barley at Herriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and is also trained in ISO9000 implementation. Her first degree was in American and British Literature. She is an avid gardener and enjoys visiting British flower shows.

Chris has a BA Honours degree in Chinese Studies. He was based in Hong Kong for six and a half years, where he worked for the world’s leading B2B trade show organiser, organising many events in mainland China in collaboration with Chinese partner organisations from both industry and government. In the UK Chris has worked in a senior business development role for the examinations and qualifications division of the University of Cambridge, where he grew the organisation’s business in mainland China. Chris began working at CBBC in 2005 and was promoted to Director in 2007. As well as his senior management and regional commitments, Chris is the lead in the UK for CBBC’s activities in the Life Sciences (Healthcare, Pharma, Biotech).

Guoyu is a skilled industry researcher, and organises a wide variety of events for UK-based companies in China. He has also been actively involved in CBBC's national ICT research team. He has founded or co-founded successful businesses in Northern Ireland, London and China, including the online publication The China Times, and open source software projects, such as the Chinese version of the e-currency Bitcoin and the media project Yizhe. He received his MBA from the Open University and a postgraduate diploma in Management from Loughborough University. He is fluent in Russian and became a British citizen in 2012.

Stewart Ferguson is the West Midlands Representative and Head of Research and Consultancy for the China-Britain Business Council. Stewart began learning Chinese at the age of 16 and after graduating from Durham University in Oriental Studies worked for both Hong Kong and Taiwan invested companies in the UK. Prior to joining CBBC, Stewart lived and worked in Guangzhou for 8 years where he was General Manager for a Taiwanese export orientated manufacturer. Stewart has an in-depth knowledge of both the opportunities and the issues UK companies may face when developing business in China. Located in Rugby, Stewart covers the West Midlands, Wales and South West England.

Annabel Gaywood joined the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) as Trade Services Director in March 2015, where she oversees UKTI’s China Business Support Service (formerly known as OMIS) and Export Opportunities services.
Annabel’s experience includes consulting, researching and overseeing complex projects specialised in sensitive, high risk and post-conflict areas: managing a global 24 hour compliance lines service for employees to report malpractice (corporate fraud, corruption) at Control Risks, a leading risk consulting firm; managing global Corporate Social Responsibility Projects at the International Business Leaders’ Forum (IBLF); researching for the Secretary of State for Scotland, and observing elections for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and European Union (EU).
