China is the UK's 3rd largest trading partner with over £22bn worth of UK goods sold to China in 2018, and £20bn invested by Chinese companies and entrepreneurs in UK businesses.

Retail sales of consumer goods reached 9,779 bn yuan in the 1st quarter of 2019, up by 8.3% year on year. Online retail sales of goods, which accounted for 18.2% of total retail sales, increased by 21%.
