Arts & Culture

Shenzhen is best known for its commerce and business, rather than culture, but there are still one or two places to visit.
Shenzhen Museum, 1008 Shennan Road Central
Shenzhen Grand Theatre, 6 Hongling Road, Luohu District
He Xiangning Art Galley, 9013, Shennan Avenue 9013
Guan Shanyue Art Galley, 6026 Hongli Road, Futian District 6026

"Scenic Spots" Which are the best places to visit, for a tourist?

Splendid China , also known as "Shenzhen Miniature Kingdom", is one of the world's largest small-scale scenic spots, reflecting China's natural landscape and cultural history.

Next to Splendid China is another theme park, China Folk Culture villages, the first in the country blending folk cultures and architecture of almost all ethnic groups in China.

Window of the World , next to Splendid China and China Folk Culture Villages, is divided into nine ëscenic spots', featuring historic sites, natural landscapes, folk architecture, sculptures, paintings, folk singing and dancing.

There are sightseeing buses going to all these theme parks, from Luohu district, the central commercial area, and the new central business district, Futian. Alternatively, it will cost you no more than Yn50 to get there by taxi from Luohu or Futian. The Shenzhen Metro also goes out to the parks.

Shopping

Louhu Commercial City (a five-floor shopping mall). Plenty of bargains, traditional Chinese clothes, massage (body, foot), restaurants, etc. Luohu railway station.

Dongmen 'Laojie' (the old street). This is the only street which had department stores in Shenzhen before early 1980s. There are many shopping malls, selling CDs, VCDs, DVDs, fashion items and so on, as well as having plenty of restaurants and cinemas.

Huaqiang Bei Rd
Includes the SEG Electronic Market, Huaqiang Electronic Market (hi-tech products such as computers, software, electronic products including digital, audio-visual and telecom products). Also fashion shops and restaurants.
