  • The Xi'an local government is currently focusing its energy on developing two logistics parks to support the trade and transport networks needed for an export-oriented regional economy.
    • The Airport New City overseeing air freight
    • The Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park in downtown Xi’an focusing on land-based logistics as China’s largest inland port. (Total investment in the project is RMB 3.068 billion Yuan.)
  • Shaanxi is speeding up the construction of an airborne Silk Road strategic hub by building the Xi’an Aviation Town centered on Xi’an Xianyang International Airport and Xixian New Area Airport Town. This strategic hub will be instrumental in quickening the deployment of the aviation industry such as aviation logistics, aircraft maintenance, and high-end service. The aim is to convert the city into the Silk Road's business trade logistics center linking the east to the west.
  • The construction of the Xi’an Chanba consulate district is being accelerated in order to promote the Central Asian countries to establish consulates in Xi’an.
  • Xi’an ChanBa financial business district’s construction has progressed. The global call centre of Bank of China, the National Development Bank, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, China Insurance Regulatory Commission and other branches have moved into the area.
  • The Xi’an International Logistics and Trade Park cross-border e-commerce pilot became operational in 2014. By April 2015, the cross-border trade e-commerce platform of Xi’an had handled about 50,000 cases of export clearance, with a total cargo value of about 584,000 USD.

  1. Xi’an has a distinct advantage in location. Due to its location at the geograhical center of China, it has become the largest node city in the trunk road network of the whole country and an important traffic hub to connect the north-south “Grand Cross” railway network.
